The prize, granted by Spanish Society on Virtual Archeology (SEAV) during the annual conference Archaeologica 2.0. held in Seville, Spain - June 22-24, 2011, is given to international personalities who have contributed significantly to the development of digital technologies or new methodologies in archaeological research, and cultural heritage management.
R. Scopigno has been awarded for his work in new digital technologies for 3D representation, and the use of 3D digital media in the study, analysis and restoration of works of art.
